Kings Arms Is One Of My Favourite Pubs To Eat At,
Kings Arms is one of my favourite pubs to eat at, the service has always been friendly and food has invariably been delicious. I have eaten there with my sister who is allergic to just about everything (including wheat, gluten and dairy) and the staff were able to cater for her needs as everything is home made.

Nice Old Pub In A Beautiful Village That Has Poorl
Nice old pub in a beautiful village that has poorly trained staff and ineffective management (proprietors are busy at their other pub) and does not deserve the amount of custom it gets but presently benifits from the other pub in the village (crown & sandys) being closed for building work.

The Food In This Place Was Very Nice. I Find It A
The food in this place was very nice. I find it a little salty but I suspect that may be because I never add salt to anything. I don't like the flavour of salt. That aside, I had a tasty parsnip and thyme soup with some crusty bread and butter. My partner had smoke halibut salad with beetroot. Very artistic and dainty. For mains we had the roast chicken and my partner had the tilapia. Roast chicken beautifully presented, yummy gravy, 4 big crispy roast potatoes and lovely selection of veg. Only weird thing was chorizo stuffing which was overpoweringly chorizo! I didn't eat it but my partner (who did) said it need some sundried tomatoes or peppers to bring out the sweetness. His tilapia came on a bed of sauteed potatoes and (I think) some veg. He'd eaten most of it before I had a chance to look. For pud I had a lovely pear tatin which came with chocolate ice cream. I got where they were coming from - chocolate classically goes with pear - but for me, it didn't work. I don't like chocolate ice cream and would have preferred clotted cream or even vanilla ice cream. But the tatin itself was scumptious! My partner's cheese board contained 6 imaginitive cheeses: caerfilli, at least 2 other Welsh cheeses, a blue and a goat's log. We did ask the names of them and they wrote them down and gave them to us, but I can't remember now. Came with lots of biscuits stacked artisically and a blob of chutney on a board. I think there was a stick of celery too but no other fruit. Washed down with some real ale in front of roaring log fire, what more could you ask for on a wet November afternoon?
