We Had Booked A Night At The Old White Lion Severa

We had booked a night at The Old White Lion several months in advance and had booked a table for dinner in the a la carte Oyster Restaurant. When we arrived at 11am we were told we would have to order our dinner choices in advance. So we were ordering dinner before we'd even had lunch. We were handed laminated pub-type menus with half of the choice of the menu promised on the website. The manager/landlord was extremely grumpy and very rude when questioned about the available menu. We had been looking forward to the promised fantastic fish cooked by an Australian chef. When my friend complained that his fillet steak was 5 mm thick and very overcooked the landlord told him he was "talking nonsense". He was an extremely rude man. I had Seabass which was served with a salad - the plate and salad were freezing cold and the salad looked as if it had been frozen. It then had two fillets of (warm) fish plonked on top.

All in all a pretty terrible eating experience. Awful food and an awful atmosphere.
