New Inn, Ham Common, Surrey

Everything about the New Inn is positive except the prices. Drinks are about 15% higher than other pubs in the vicinity and the food is well overpriced about 20% more than we would expect to pay for meals of this type in a pub environment. On the positive side the venue is really nice with no music or television so one can holds a decent conversation. The service is first class friendly, helpful and attentive. The atmosphere is very amiable and the pub is clean. food is ordered at the counter and delivered to your table usually within 20 minutes. There are some interesting but expensive dishes on the daily specials board.

Provided you are prepared to pay well over the odds for both food and drink the New Inn is a nice pub and place to eat. The Special Board and set menu has a reasonable variety but we noticed there was nothing that would tempt children or child's menu. Some kind of home made hamburger would have been a good idea. The service was efficient and friendly but the staff dress code certainly was not smart and could certainly be vastly improved. A nice location right on Ham Common not far from Ham House. There was a refined atmosphere with no music and it seemed to attract a more mature clientele although it was a midweek visit in school term time.The New Inn was clean,comfortable and welcoming.If it was not for the expensive food which was nice but poor value and the fact the drinks were about 15% more than their local competitors We thought this pub had a lot of character and was lovely.

The New Inn on Ham Common is in a nice location with Ham House and Richmond Park both within half a mile. The menu is not extensive but the food quality is good and it is well presented.There is also a daily special board which in our opinion is the better option as the food from this is very fresh. We thought prices were a little high for what is mainly a pub. it serves a good selection of real ales and wines. It is very popular on Sunday lunchtimes so you need to get there early to obtain a table. Overall certainly worth a visit.If travelling by bus on the route 65 or free off street parking around Ham Common.Clientele during the week both lunchtimes and evenings tends to be small groups or couples usually in 30 plus age group but families dominate Sunday lunchtimes.
