Carluccio's, Kingston Upon Thames

I love Carluccio's! You can get a really scrumptious breakfast - I went for the Colazione Magnifica which consists of scrambled eggs (with chives) on toasted ciabatta with some pancetta, mushrooms and a tomato. You also get either tea or coffee as well as glass of juice and it's great to just sit in Carluccio's first thing in the morning reading the weekend paper and eating this lovely breakfast. It's not as cheap as your local cafe but I think it tastes so much better and the atmosphere is relaxing and staff are discreet but attentive. The only downside is because it is a family style resturant then on the odd occasion you get excited children which sometimes grate. I have only eaten lunch twice at Carluccio's but again it was a good experience. The last time I ate the sausage pasta (Penne alla Luganica) with a tomato salad and it was really tasty so would have no hesitation in recommending this to anyone.If you are a lover of Italian food the the Carluccio's shop also has great little gift sets for birthdays and Christmas too. Last year I bought my parents a pannettone which went down a treat.
