Ziggy's, St Andrews

We arrived in ziggys to a smoke filled eating area. Something being burnt and no ventilation. Had a wonky table and when i asked the waitress to fix it she said she couldn't!? Most of the food was straight from a freezer bag into a deep fat fryer. Appallin food and service. A must avoid.

I have just read lots of bad reviews of Ziggys on this page, I dont underdtand them, I have been to Ziggys a lot and will returning at the end of the month. The staff are very frienly,good food and filling! The atmosphere is great we all loved the decoration of the place. The perfect place to go if you have been working up a hunger on the golf course! Yes, the space is a bit tight but they do well with what they have got. I over heard lots of people saying it was the best steak they had ever eatin.

I cant wait to get back there and stuff my fae with their great food!

went to ziggys on a recomendation from a local bar ...big mistake.... cramped not the word... steak was OK brandy peppercorn sauce more like wallpaper paste....owner didn't like the fact we questioned the quality of the food. 10 golfers spent three hundred pounds and not one said they were happy with their meal nor would they return....skip ziggys get a bag of chips

First time in Ziggy's and whilst the quality of food was very good the accompanyments were a little skimpy only 4 each of mushrooms and onion rings. Also the restaurant is very small, we were left with a feeling of claustrophobia due to the closness of adjoining tables when occupied. In spite of the quality of food I would not choose to eat here again nor would I recommend it to others.

Twice now me and some friends have eaten at Ziggy's and all fell ill shortly after. We will never be eating here again, the manager of the establishment is also known for being anti-american, (after he was heard shouting abuse at an american girl), which is interesting considering many of his customers are american. He is very rude and the service was appauling, what ever you do, don't ask to split the bill! The worst meal we have ever had in St Andrews.

ziggys is amazing , definately the best restrauant off its type in the town , great atmosphere , fantastic food , and the service was friendly and attentive , an absolute must if your in the town

I found Ziggy's, St Andrews to be a dissapointment. My husband and i and our 10 month old son really liked the sound of the menu and since it had a childs menu thought this would be a great place to set up for lunch. To my suprise instead of being greeted with a friendly hello i was asked sternly if my pram folded down as not to take up space in an empty restuarant. I was in the middle of getting our son set up when he returned again to say if you are leaving it up then i will have to get you to put it down when it gets busy as it will, ( harrassed by this point i thought getting my son into a chair was the more safer option first) i then put the stupid buggy down. He the returned to ask what we wanted no friendly manner. Food arrived not bad but not great chips were over cooked and burger was not up to much, as we are not the complaining type this was new to us. Felt really on egde through meal kept on thinking we were going to get thrown out for our sons bits falling on floor. Not a relaxing place to eat and certainly wont be back again. Note : IF YOU HAVE KIDS YOU ARE NOT WELCOME! they have a kids menu but i think its for politeness.

The steaks which used to be so good I thought were awful, would not recommend the strip steak. I had 'reef and beef' The steak was dreadful, the chips mediocre and the onion rings soggy. I had a Bananarama Ice Cream to follow, should have been easy enough but the fudge sauce was grainy and it was hard to find any banana. Ziggys was at one time the place to eat in St Andrews but in recent years has gone downhill in my opinion and I will not be going again. I felt it was way too expensive for the quality of the food I received.

Ziggy's restaurant and staff make one feel at home, as if you are part of their family. Food is excellent-one of the best steaks I have ever had! Everyone is up for a joke and are happy. Wonderful place.
