Weekend Visitor To Edinburgh And Booked Prior To G

Weekend visitor to Edinburgh and booked prior to going. Walked in and the entrance foyer has two large curtains, one left and one right. These are used to block the wind when the front door is open) We had no idea of where to go. Picked wrong curtain and ended up nearly banging into a diner. When we were seated, we were behind said curtain and must have had around 5 people do the exact same as us. A welcome sign with a arrow pointing right would resolve this small but annoying point. The service was good, food was good but the restaurant badly needs a facelift.

Went For A Meal Last Night Not Busy In The Resaura

Went for a meal last night not busy in the resaurant (6 people in total), sat for 10 minutes without anyone even speaking to us. Even to offer us a drink. We stood up and left as well as making it quite clear what I thought of the service (or lack of it) we had recieved. Bearing in mind we probably would have spent around £100 and both of us "diners" work in the same street, shocking. Highly not recomended. Avoid at all costs.

Went For My Son's 14th Birthday. Busy Atmosphere

Went for my son's 14th birthday. Busy atmosphere but friendly. The restaurant is owned by farmers in East Lothian and their cook their own farm produce here. I am not a meat eater as such but the steak and burgers were the best I have ever tasted. The chicken was absolutely delicious as were the range of sauces we ordered. Good value for money as a restaurant should be - simple good quality food well served with good service. Well done McKirdys.

Mckirdys Restaurant Lacks Any Atmosphere Whatsoeve

McKirdys restaurant lacks any atmosphere whatsoever and the staff are quite surly. However the food is always good but I wouldnt recommend it to anyone I know, mainly because of the lack of ambience and the staff.

I Thought It Had No Cosy Feel To It At All-to The

I thought it had no cosy feel to it at all-to the stage that we never felt comfy staying to order a dessert. no contact from the staff from the minute we sat down. tables looked like a small grease and spoon cafe i.e. just pushed up against the wall. to order curly fries and see what i was served-the curly fries which looked like those i had just gave my children for dinner from tesco freezer!

First attempt at McKirdys and we were turned away despite apparently empty tables. second attempt-most of starters were left yet no question as to were they ok. wouldn't as much as stay for a dessert as felt so uncomfortable.

Our Party Of 3 Adults And Two Teenagers All Loved

Our party of 3 adults and two teenagers all loved it at McKirdys in Edinburgh. There were clean plates all round. Nothing stuffy about this place! You could share your leftovers with your nephew openly, without waiters, owners or fellow diners frowning at you.

I was almost tempted to lick my plate!
