19 November 2011 - What A Great Night!
Booked dinner for close friends and family to celebrate 40th birthday and couldn't fault it! The staff were very attentive but not overbearing, the food was superb and the rooms we stayed in overnight were beautifully decorated. Excellent value for money, would recommend the place to anyone and everyone.

My Family Visited The Feildon Arms On Saturday 6th
My family visited the Feildon Arms on Saturday 6th February to celebrate my step-daughters 18th birthday. The food was fantastic - with absolutely no complaints whatsoever. We were told that there was a new chef and he should be congratulated. the food was a step above the usual pub grub and incredibly good value for money. The waitresses were very attentive and pleasant and polite.
I would definitly recommend the Goosnargh chicken and blackpudding mash. Simply delicious!

Ate Here On A Sat Lunch Time With Two Young Childr
Ate here on a Sat lunch time with two young children. I couldn't belive how bad the food was. The kids both had Saus and mash..the saus was ok, but the mash dry and hard. I ordered the lamb shank which was utterly disgusting. it tasted of bland grease. My boyf had the hot pot which had layer of wet white cabbage in it... really poor. We didnt stay for desert.
there was lack of catering for kids.. i had to ask for a baby seat about 15 minutes afetr coming in... the place was empty and the toiltes dirty..it was obvious they hadnt cleaned or hoovered for a while. Really disappointing for a pub which has in the past, been excllent.

Visited Here Last Night (tues) About 6pm. Not Man
Visited here last night (Tues) about 6pm. Not many people in. Server was quite attentive but need 2 reminders to clean table mess from previous occupants. We were put off by the soup, as he told us it was lettuce and onion, same as last night! I ordered duck pate with chutney and chabatta, quite edible, friend 1 ordered squid with chilli dip but unfortunately the dip came with a fly, so she didnt want it replacing and ordered desert instead. For mains I had lamb shank which was tender and tasty and I couldnt finish. Friend 1 had hotpot which she said was ok but not keen onthe layer of cabbage under the sliced potatoes. Freind 2 had the steak pudding with mash, of which she left half as she was ordering sticky toffee pud for afters. The mains came with a huge dish for sharing of chips, cheesy new spuds, brocolli, carrots and french beans. She said her meal was OK. Friend 1 had strawberries and ice creram which was just OK. In all I enjoyed my meal and the portions were very generous and as a plus, it was 20% off on Mon and Tues night, so we got 2 courses for £7.95 which I thought was very good.

We Visited The Feilden Arms On A Sunday Evening, A
We visited the Feilden Arms on a Sunday evening, about 5pm. They had very good value for money specials menus, running alongside the every day menu. From what I can remember it was 2 courses for £9 menu that we went for. They also had traditional Sunday specials.
The food was really good and definitely would be willing to pay more for it.
The service was a little slow and forgetful (no bread roll with soup), but it was very busy, and from what I could see there were a few new members of staff (always forgiveable).
Overall, everyone was very friendly, a locals' pub as well as a restaurant, so lots of atmosphere.
Would definitely visit again, and have recommended it already to friends and family.

Stopped At The Feilden's Arms, Mellor For A Meal O
Stopped at the Feilden's Arms, Mellor for a meal on Sunday afternoon (July 2009) on our way back from a day out. Pub looked really nice from the outside and had a had a sign outside claiming award winning food. We thought we'd give it a try and weren't disapointed when we went inside as the place was very nicely decorated and looked really quite nice. Unfortunately, however, the food did not match up to the decor. The food, which claimed to be fresh on the menu was clearly anything but and the so called award winning steak pudding was probably one of the most misleading statements ever made and was drowned in instant gravy. The vegetables were barely cooked, the goosnargh duck was like one of those ready roasted crispy ducks which you buy from the supermarket and re-heat and my pate starter was still in a spoon shaped blob as if it had been dolloped straight out of the jar. We ended up sending some of our food back as it really was bad. The only positive was the young girl serving us who was really nice and handled eveything really well. Just felt sorry for her because it looked like she probable got the same thing every weekend. Probably one on the worst pub lunches i've ever had. Just goes to show you get what you pay for
