Bay Horse Inn, Forton

At our family celebration in June we enjoyed delicious food at the Bay Horse, Forton, beautifully presented,truly a delight, but oh! the service!!! This was the second time in a month that we had been to the Bay Horse and I have to say that on neither occasion was there any service worth mentioning. We waited an age for dirty plates to be removed, even after asking a member of staff to clear the table, and I'm not sure the dessert menu would ever have come if one of our party hadn't gone to the bar to ask for it - twice. True it was a Saturday evening but not exceptionally busy. We arrived just before 7 and it was 10.30 p.m. before the meal was over. We left feeling that the evening had been spoilt by the total lack of interest in us shown by the front of house staff who seriously let down the superb work of the inner sanctum.
