The Decor In Cafe Slice, Magherafelt Is Really Nic
The decor in Cafe Slice, Magherafelt is really nice and has the look of large investment to make it what it is and it just seems out of place in Magherafelt. What really put me off was the cheap and nasty plastic chairs which reminded me of being at school again!
The building itself is very roomy and airy but there was no privacy if you want to have a private conversation with your meal.
The menu leaves a lot to be desired as there was a poor selection. When you do find something on the menu that you like the portions are really small and you do come away feeling slightly hungry.
The restaurant would probably do well for itself in another location - perhaps a city or the likes but I think it is just a bit too way out for Magherafelt.
I Would Imagine That There Has Been A High Investm
I would imagine that there has been a high investment in the decor at The Cafe Slice, which would suit a more metropolitan location, but plastic bucket seating is not what one expects in what is marketing itself as a high class eatery in Magherafelt.
Something that should be reviewed is their policy on gift vouchers. My meal came to £50.70 and I gave £60 in vouchers and asked for a £5 voucher in return, allowing a tip, but was told that was not possible.
Also, unfortunately I was not impressed with the portions as I left hungry. Selection on the menu was not great either. It has the potential to be good but it's just not coming together yet.
