Moon House, Romford

Sadly P is no longer here but R and the team are keeping his dream alive, the food is second to none and service 100 % big portions piping hot and service better than china town. Be back very soon mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

My colleagues and I visited the Moon House for a quick bite to eat a couple of weeks back.

I hadn't been here for around fifteen years and wasn't sure what to expect.

The place hasn’t changed much since I was last there and still has a nice cosy feel to it.

The Staff were quick to get the beers, but a bit slow with the prawn crackers, although we made a joke about this with the guy serving us and we all had a good laugh which broke the ice.

The food was really tasty, especially the prawns in chilli sauce and the portions very generous which more than filled up four hungry men.

We are now looking forward to our next meal in the Moon House in a few weeks time.

Visited the moon house during my 2 week holiday to essx! What a great night. Had set meal H. H must be short for hearty! What a feast and the staff (All chinese) were polite & very helpful and explained what each dish was!

The extra plate of prawn crackers was a wonderful touch!

Don't suppose you do take out to Perth, WA!

I have been going to the Moon House since the early eighties. Yes it is old fashioned and in need of a lick of paint but lets face it you dont go to a restaurant for the decor! Pete, Ray and the rest of the staff are friendly and warm and the fact that this restaurant has stayed the same since the eighties is part of the charm. The food is hot and delicious and I have never had a bad meal here. Will be visiting again asap.

From the outside you would never expect it to be such a welcoming, clean and friendly place. The food was excellent and the best Chinese food I have ever eaten. It arrived hot, looking appetising and smelt gorgeous. It is the only place I will order take away from from now on.

Like the other review had said, from the outside you wouldn't think to go in but as we have had many takeaways from here before and we thought we would try dining in. It was very busy (Chinese New Year weekend) so we were glad we booked a table. The food was really tasty and hot and I would recommend the pineapple fritter with ice cream for desert - it was divine! The value of the meal was really good considering how much food we ordered and the service was very friendly. Really happy with our choice and we will definitely be returning. The decor does let it down a little but overall well done Moon House!

From the outside Moon House, Romford looks quite dirty and in need or a lick of paint but when you get inside the service is brillant the decor is a bit old fashioned but the food. Well i think it beats any chinese in china town and i have been there a few time, the menu is varied and just super!

i would definatly recommend any one to this resturant
