Smith & Jones Bars and Pubs

I was disgusted with the amount of tea stains on my teapot for when i went for my breakfast yesterday. It was horrible. We usually go for breakfast at our local but was so dissapointed this time. The sausages also tasted like they were cooked in plastic and lots of hard over cooked beans. WAS NOT

I like everything about the Redbridge in Andover except the temperature of their Bitters.

I took a thermometer with me today (19/11/2014). I went in and waited till the thermometer stabilised. It was twenty-one degrees

I then bought a pint of courage and took the temperature of the beer. It was eight degrees. That's 13 degrees below room temperature. It should be 3 or 4 degrees below room temperature

It's a lovely pub but the bitters are much too cold

We visited the Engine Room in Leek,Staffordshire yesterday and wished we had not - we waited nearly an hour for our food (58 minutes) and when it came it was disappointing - we will not be going again!!

Over the past 2 years i have been to the S&J's in York,Yeadon and Leeds(Varsity)

I have tried the Hunters Chicken,Scampi and Chips,Mixed Grill

Rump Steak,Sirloin Steak and Fish and Chips.

Probably the Sirloin was a disappointment as i don't like fat or gristle

Every other meal has been really enjoyable. The Big Eat Scampi is one of my favorites,as it's always piping hot and crispy.

Going,as i do,after 3pm, it's always quiet- on Mon-Fri.-and the service is always exemplary.

Using the Tesco vouchers means you can have a real belt busting meal for the equivalent of £2.50.

Definitely worth the trouble to locate the many S&J's around the country.

As a regular buisness user of this central pub I was disgusted on my last visit.Never again will i return with any of my clients.My sevice from start to finish was appaling and a once clean friendly enviroment has now went seriously down hill.The glass was dirty the bar maid was not friendly or even wearing a smile.there was no toilet roll in the bathroom and the boy whom brought my food was scruffy and unclean looking although he did smile.My food was cold and the time we waited on it was appaling.

Went to this pub approx 3 months ago was spoken so rudely by the manager when ordering drinks. Manager had no people skills! Food chain that is going down hill! Made the mistake of returning few weeks ago and was ask to leave after emailing a complaint. Emailed complaint again asking why I wasn't allowed into a pub as I complained and got a reply of its standard procedure!! So instead of taking Critism they just Barr people from returning!!

Amazingly prepared fish they have there. Definitely recommended. The personnel is really considerate and attentive.

Much better value than Belle Italia.Paying on ordering at the bar saves on tipping and waiting for the Bill.

Just a shame the Sirloin steak was a let down-even at £10.00,unless,of course you like it with 30% fat, grizzle and Garlic. Nice big cup of coffee @£2.50

Went there while visitng some friends. Well, been to better places with better food and drinks.

Smith and Jones is a nice place,average, really. All in all it is ok.
