After eventually finding this gastro pub, (keep your eyes peeled for the tiny yellow signs, which seem overgrown.)
We had the special unprivilege of being crammed on to a small table with uncomfortable chairs.
We found the service to be incredibly slow, (maybe due to a member of staff seemingly being fixated to chatting to his friends at the bar), leaving a solitary waiter.
The carbonated drinks seemed to be flat
Careful though if you're a diabetic or are sugar intolerant, as it appears the barman did not know the difference between diet and normal coke.
I had the deepest fried supermarket style scampi and chips at 12 quid which I thought was outrageous!
My Mum had Salmon and Haddock? pie, drier than the Gobi desert.
Still luckily,
Mum managed to wash it down with the room temperature white wine, it was supposed to be chilled.
I had a cup of tea, (in what appeared to be a dirty cup)!
Still the service picked up, at the end of the meal.
The bill was given to us while we were still eating!
This has been the worst dining experience in the last seven years.
I will never come here again and will gladly tell anyone who asks to save their hard earned money.

Probably would not go for an evening meal again- only snacks and drinks.
The pub atmosphere and decor are all good.
Nice english country pub, wood fire etc.
We Had A Table Booked For 4pm Yesterday For 4 Adul
We had a table booked for 4pm yesterday for 4 adults and a child at The Lamb in Henley on Thames. On our journey, which we were traveling 40 minutes to try The Lamb, we had car trouble and we were waiting for it to be sorted, we telephoned to explain this and see if it would be okay to be half an hour or so late. We understand that it is a very busy day and this may not have been possible but instead of getting a polite answer along those lines my husband didn't even get to finish his sentence he was hung up on!? He managed to say the words 'We can't make it right now....' called back to again be shouted at and told not to come to 'MY' pub again and that we would be charged and hung up on again.
This is disgusting behaviour and very disappointing. It is not worth me phoning to speak to the landlord again as I will no doubt get the same treatment, I have emailed him to complain. Looking at reviews on the Lamb on the internet, it looks like we are not the only ones that have comments like this.
It is very disappointing when there is a famous name behind a restaurant, we were looking forward to trying it on Mother's Day. It was unfortunate that we had problems getting there, or maybe not if that was the welcome we would have had! As we all know not everything runs on time, people are late, circumstances that you can't be there at all, we had the decency to phone and keep them up to date, if they couldn't fit us in a bit later then they could have politely said, but to not let someone speak and shout and hang up.
