Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit (Xbox 360)

I have always been a fan of the Need for Speed series, and this is a welcome addition. It returns to its roots by incorporating police packing super cop cars...

Playing as either a street racer or a cop, you are presented with a variety of different levels that are one of several challenge types, a race, a duel, a test run of a new car etc. In particular levels, you get turbo kits and emp's to attack other racers/cops, and you have the classic Nitrous kit to allow bursts of speed, increased by driving in to oncoming traffic, narrow misses and drafting behind other racers. As a cop, your target is to respond to calls and to take down racers, so you really get both sides of the coin with this game.

the car selection is vast, and really well reproduced, they look great. Switching from a Lamborghini to a mustang is a great way to waste an afternoon.

the handling is the classic NFS power sliding arcade style... This is not a driving simulator like Forza which is a true replication of driving, this is fast arcade action, and is really enjoyable. I like both, so having the option for a quick race with speed, this is the game, and when I want a driving experience, I switch to Forza.

I wish they had included the 'free drive' like the previous releases, allowing you to drive around the area and find races, as opposed to a map to select your next event, this is a shame, and so far, I have seen no car customization. so, do to these omissions, I have reduced the score to 4 stars.

I like it, great game, but could have been better, and you can find it online for a great price, excellent fast paced action.
