Mass Effect 2 (Xbox 360)

Such a fantastic game which I picked up for ridiculously cheap thanks to a "one day only sale" on TheHut.com. This has been the first game I've ever replayed on my 360, and I'm just polishing off my 3rd run through to see and do everything!

Great follow on from the first in the series, with brilliant hooks and throw backs to the story and decisions you made. The game moves at a great pace and really compels you to go and try everything and gives you the freedom to explore. The story isn't as as strong as the first Mass Effect but the characters, weapons, combat, levelling, powers and enemies have all improved so much I can easily overlook the plot, which I don't think I've ever been able to do with other games.

When I first noticed that my favorite games were losing dozens of awards to a game called Mass Effect, I was a little skeptical of what this game really was about. I then skipped ahead to Mass Effect 2 to get the most recent form of the experience. I went into it thinking it would be something I couldn't get into. I now know that I made a terrible mistake waiting so long. This game is amazing. The gameplay has been enhanced since the last game. You can move from cover to cover with a quick sprint across the room. The guns have been improved and you now have more options to choose from. You also get to choose one of the many classes to fit around your style of gaming. You can be a soldier and focus mainly on guns, or you can be a vanguard and get up close and personal with your enemies. On to the story. You play as Commander Shepard who must save the human race from the Collectors who are kidnapping entire colonies of humans for unknown reasons. You must build a team of the greatest warriors in the galaxy. You must lead your team into the fire and eliminate the collector threat. In short, Mass Effect 2 is a game that will infect your life and keep you locked in your house with the blinds down for a long time to come and I don't think you will disagree. 10/10 cool game

when i first played mass effect i finished it (which took me quite a while) and immediately thought "i really want a sequel to this game, and i pray that it doesnt blow. I pre ordered a copy of mass effect 2 and picked it up the day it was released, played it from about 2 in the afternoon till about midnight and still was hooked!!!!!!! its such an addictive game!!!!!! The game has that much content they had to make it 2 discs! The graphics are to me pushing the envelope of standard, the sound is crystal clear, the storyline is spielberg quality, obviously theres some of the old characters and some new ones. The whole feel and look of the game have stepped it up a notch, i honestly cant speak highly enough of it! everyone from the gamer nerds to the average joe and jane will appreciate it

Great game - infact so intense and deep that you wil get drawn in and adicted. I have to say that to me it was a little too intense and I couldn't play it a second time - simply because I don't have the time. You need to put a serious number of hours in.

To me though the major downer was that the playability was too smooth. Kinda like GRAW2 in space. I preferred the first Mass Effect for playability, but I would probably be in the minority.
