So... You Want To Make Your Own Rpg? Then You Need
So... you want to make your own RPG? Then you need the RPG Maker! It's not easy, but if you had to do it, I'd reccomend this peice of gaming equipment. It's VERY time consuming, I worked 3 days for only a few levels, and it was just test levels, not even anything to do in them (walk around, get a new party member, fight a battle or two, and move on to the next level)! It's also probably the most complicated game I've ever played. I bought it having high hopes, but couldn't figure it out for the life of me. Months later, I let my friend borrow it. He couldn't figure it out either. He returned it and I just decided to mess with it a while. Later, I had figured some of it out. I kept working at it, and figured more and more out. I'm still no expert, but I know what I'm doing! You can make monsters, dungeons, fields (maps/overworlds), main characters, skills, magic, items/weapons, and scenarios. It's very complicated, but definitely worth it once you figure it out. The graphics are pretty good, but not great. It's still 2d, but not one colored pixels like the original RPGs. Just look at a few screens and you'll see what I mean. That's not such a bad thing, since some new RPGs have the same type of graphics. In a scenario, you set a spot that when you run into it something happens. There are 29 (I think) different scenarios, and each having about 5 sub-options. Ranging from displaying a message, to ending the game, and moving to a different spot to growing a level, ect. This is a very good game, but the sample that comes with it is worthless, because you can't do anything with it! If you need any help on this game, just head for the Playstation Forum, I'm no expert, but I think I can help with a few things.
