Steel Battalion Is One Of The Best Games Ever Made
Steel Battalion is one of the best games ever made. I have played just about every game ever made and this beats them all! The only reason anyone would knock this game is because it's too hard! And they would be right! This is NOT repeat NOT a kids game! This games is for true game players, and is way to hard for newbies. or light-middle weight players. Stay with the cheap $30-$40 games if this is you!

This game is GREAT!
You control a VT.(Vertical Tank) You go through the missions and scenarios with your VT earning money depending on how well you do. As the missions progress you'll get new techonogy you can outfit your VT with and even get new VT's to cruise around in.
You have wingmen that will help you fight in the battles, but I find they tend to be more annoying then anything. They will do well in big open areas but not tight canyons.
The environment is completly destroyable. One time I had about 2 of my wingmen way ahead of me and saw that there were 3 enemy VT's flanking them from the side. I quickly started destroying these huge buildings to make my way through them and come from behind and take out the enemy VT's.
To support you ingame, you can also call out a resupply copper to repair *some* of the damage caused in battle and refuel and resupply your ammo.
This game will give you a lot of enjoyment and battlefield immersion to make you feel that you're actually inside one of these huge VT's and destroying stuff. If you have a friend with the game, try it out first before you pay for it. Make sure you can get comfortable in the chair and have nice room for your feet to controll the pedals. Make sure the controller itself will not move around while you're playing, it can really ruin a game!!

I'm only keepin this game in hopes that they fix the claustrophobic battle feel and lumbering tunnel vision. The graphics should be 10 times better. The HUD should not have all the view-blocking garbage! It's like riding around in a garbage can with a view from a slit cut into it. Stupid. In the future, you will be able to see what the hell you're fighting and where you are going. Very disappointed in the limited-view HUD and graphics. Pray for a better version to come or another vendor to utilize this awesome controller. I wanted to love this game, but it sucks!
The guy who made this review obvously didn't read the manual that came with it. It's not a glass cockpit (which would be really stupid) You're looking out of a view monitor inside the VT. Ofcourse you cannot see the whole battlefield!! What the heck do you think you see when you're inside a REAL tank??? They've mixed the fantasy VT(mech) scenario with realistic fighting for a blend that is beyond belief! The replay looks better because you're not looking through a monitor but looking from outside the VT.
The hud is fine and does a great job! Shows how much fuel/ammo and stuff like that. Radar screen and an external camera you can change views. IF you use all the technology they give you in the game you have no problem finding enemys to shoot. The guy is an amateur gamer that doesn't try to actually play the game.
WHAT IS THIS GUY ON WITH. HE HAS OBVIOUSLY PLAYED TO MUCH KASUMI NINJA TO NOT APPRECIATE THIS FANTASTIC GAME. THE GRAINY LOOK AND AND BIG COCKPIT VIEW MAKE THIS A AWESOME EXPERIENCE. OK PLAY THIS ON A SMALL TV AND U WILL PROBABLY GO BLIND SCREWING YOUR EYES UP TRYING TO SEE WHATS HAPPENING. I AM PLAYING THIS ON A 50" AND ITS INCREDIBLE . TRY BEFORE U DIE AND IGNORE THE CRITICS.

Steel Battalion Is Just Like Controlling A Mech Wa
Steel Battalion is just like controlling a Mech Warrior Tank except with a touch of simulation realism and action all in one. The Tank design is very cool, big legs with whatever weapons for each arm you have. From all the fun i had with this game i never had to push that red button which i know has to eject me off my walking mech. Oh well hope this game makes it to Xbox live so i can play online.
