Gameboy Advance

I got the gameboy back when i was five and now in 2010 i still love it even more than my ds. the games are fantastic, and very good quality, it feels great in your hands, sound is excellent and has a widescreen screen.

the only bad ting about it has no backlight, but its not as big of a deal as people make it out be, they just need to go under a lamp or in the sun.

in conclusionthis is in my opinion the best handheld console

I got the Gameboy Advance back in 2001, so I think I've had enough time to review it. I'll start off by listing its positive points. Coming from a black-and-white Gameboy Pocket, all I can say about the graphics is that they're amazing. The 32-bit architecture really makes a world of difference. There is a much larger colour pallette available, so sprites can be larger and more vibrant. I like the 16:4 widescreen design as appose to the standard screen size, as more information can be crammed onto the screen. The console feels good in the hand, and is very comfortable to use for long periods of time. After dropping it numerous times, I can say that it is also very sturdy. I usually get about 15-20 hours of play time on this thing, depending what batteries I use. It's not as good as the Gameboy pocket, but then it also has a colour screen and a more powerful processor. However, by far, the defining characteristic of the GBA is its massive library of great games.

Well, I haven't really bought a Gameboy Advance yet, but have tested probably about 14 GBA games. It's not too bad of a console, but I believe it's a little bit too overated. Some pros is its easy to hold and carry around, because it is lightweight and small. Has a large variety of games, and compatible with the gamecube and older gameboy games. It also has decent graphics, but my neo geo pocket has almost as sharp of the graphics, and was a lot cheaper. The con is that it lasts half as long as my neo geo pocket. The GBA lasts 15 hours approximately. Some older consoles can actually make as much money as nintendo GBA, if they were more familiar. Like the nomad can actually play their genesis console games, neo geo pocket can hook up to the dreamcast (love my dreamcast)and has a lot of decent graphics. So, the technology in the GBA is not too new or great. Most accessories on the GBA you can find on the neo geo pocket. Such as Rock and Shock, rechargable accessories, link cables, etc. No offense or anything to the Nintendo fans, but the only reason why GBA is highly rated and makes more money, is because it is more familiar with the US, and kids. But overall, as much as I don't like to give Nintendo a lot of credit, it's a decent console or a pretty good console. So, I decided to get it for my b-day. I'm getting a pink one ^_^! For those of you who didn't spot the sarcasm in my bad points then let me explain.

You shouldn't expect pin-sharp graphics from a hand-held console! If you want massively fast, good looking games, buy a real console!

The graphics on the GBA(considering it's portability) are excellent and the mini console is a great evolutionary leap from the brilliant original.

The Gameboy concept is fantastic and this console helps carry on Nintendo's dominance in the 'fun' sector!

Well, Before I start I would like to say the Gameboy Advanced is 100 times better than the Gameboy, But that says nothing. I Think people must not know or get to play other handhelds. The Nomad plays Sega Genisis Games and has been out for Years before the G.B.A. and still plays better and has Tv hookups for it. The Gamegear is a weaker but at the time when it came out it was 100 times the system of the Game boy, and had Tv Tuner hook ups. The Turbo Grafix Express was another Amazing handheld for its time with 16 bit games and was put out what?? Over 10 years ago?? AND Had a TV tuner hookup. The NeoGeo color Pocket was also out many years ago and is pretty good. Just shows what big bussiness can do. The G.B.A. would of been a Good system 10 years ago, but now its nothing but overrated, over priced junk. I got one for my son and he has only played it a few times, once I got a Lcd screen for my car, now he would rather play anything (xbox, playstation, N64,and even my old 3do) instead of his new G.B.A., In a world that has changed so much in 10 years, this G.B.A. just seems so old,tired and Under powered for its time.

When the Sega versus Nintendo war raged on some 10 years ago, as a Megadrive owner I was firmly on the side of Sega. In the years that have passed since I have owned SNES, an original Gameboy, an N64 and a Dreamcast but the arrival of the GBA has made me a firm fan of Nintendo. The design of the GBA is good except for the minor details mentioned above but as one review I read earlier said, 'it's the games that make a system great', and boy, does the GBA have some great games! Where else can you have Sonic, Mario and Crash Bandicoot on the same system (other than the Gamecube)? OK, due to the limitations of the system this is no XBOX and some of the games are pitiful at best, but if you only go for the best games and you take the GBA for what it is (a damn fine handheld games system)then you can't go wrong. If you want power go for the Gamecube, if you want something for those long boring journeys, buy a GBA!

The Gameboy Advance console is a portable hand-held game. It has over 300 games (discluding the gameboy games)and can have a wider view by pressing R. There are some bad things about the system. The graphics are bad but it might be pretty hard making good graphics in such a small system, but the point is that the Gameboy Advance is something you'll want to get.

Fast and fun, the Gameboy Advance is a great hand held console. You can play your old gameboy games on it and there are loads of cool new games for the Advance and the cartridges are dead small.

Good battery life (around 6 hours) and loads of extras around.

I have heard that they plan to use the GB Advance as a controller for the Nintendo Cube!
