Shirley Billing, Seize The Day - In 1983, Shirley Billing and her husband, Peter, left London for a three year circumnavigation of the world, in their yacht Clypeus. This wasn't a fancy race sponsored by dot.com companies, but a voyage relying completely on the Billings' own resources. Last summer and a host of adventures later, the couple arrived back in Poole Harbour. This book deals with the first seven years of the trip, when they sailed from the UK to Singapore in a boat 'smaller than our previous bathrooms.' It's a fascinating account of how much world there is to discover out there, if you can only 'seize the day.'
