This Book Probably Comes Into The Category Of 'fan
This book probably comes into the category of 'fantasy', and Thomas P. Cox implies that his writing is influenced by authors such as Terry Pratchett and Robert Rankin. However it is set in the real world and apart from the time travel is quite believable.
The story concerns a quite lovable character - a young IT technician called Trevor who is bored with life and decides to search out his enlightenment, via the internet. I am sure many people can identify with the character quite easily! Without giving the story away, along the way Trevor battles with the Good Guy and the Bad Guy, but finally reaches his goal. I laughed out load throughout this book as Thomas has a very witty way of writing about the world. The bit about his cat Eightball is quite sad though.
Definitely worth a read.

Thomas P. Cox's, Enlightenment Is A Bit Of A Rare
Thomas P. Cox's, Enlightenment is a bit of a rare treat and pleasent surprise for the humour books fans. It's a bit of a mixture of general fiction, sci-fi and fantasy but one thing it definitely is, is funny. You'll laugh most of the way through and the bits you aren't laughing, well, you've got to intake breathe sometime. If you're a fan of Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett, Robert Rankin, Neil Gaimen and the likes then you'll enjoy this book all the way through. You follow the life of young Trevor as he explores his Enlightenment. The problem is Trevor's a bit of a geek and he explores it in the only way he knows how; browsing the internet, minor scientific experiments and generally without talking to another human being. But something else is going on. Good and evil forces are at work to atempt to stop Trevor in his exploration. Time Travel makes a significant impression on the storyline and it all makes a massivly enjoyable read. Definitely a rare treat from a previously unheard of author, I hope you enjoy it.
