Milton H Erickson, Sidney Rosen, My Voice Will Go with You

I liked the way that the reader is made aware of the fact that it is the person and not the therapist who should be the focus. Furthermore, that they do have the means to help themselves.

Humour, empowerment, challenging and collaboration are the key words that jumped out to me.

You cannot but understand how to address a person's problems once you have read this. It arrived to me in the post on monday, I finished it, today wednesday; and that was as well as writing reports and visiting a couple.

A very valuable asset for any student, lay person or professional alike to have on the bookshelf to return to time after time; don't let it gather dust!

Revisiting Erickson after graduate studies, I have found a great many aspects of his metaphorical approach to be very relevant to the field of education. Reaching out to the ostensibly un-reachable has been an educational challenge for years. As I do research for my own book, suggestions for simple but effective strategies for bridging resistant communication between students/teachers and between parents/teachers, administators/teachers, students/students have begun to arise for me as Erickson makes it clear that clues and solutions are evident if one is capable of looking deeply and carefully. I am excited to read more and delve into further research connecting these concepts into educational applications

A very enjoyable and pleasant book to read that provides genuine insights into the structure of Milton's interventions and his strategies as well as his exquisite use of the language of metaphor to send the mind on journeys of understanding at many levels of consciousness.

Rosen's discussion and analysis of the tales is also very helpful.
