Max Lucado, He Chose You

Max Lucado is an absolutely splendid devotional writer. In He Chose You, Lucado uses a method to tell short stories of the trials and tribulations of several teenager's lives while paralleling them to a story of Christ, his upbringing, mistreatment, death on the cross, and love for us.

The main purpose of He Chose You is to express to the reader that the Lord chose to die for your sins rather than live in heaven for eternity without you. With each chapter the reader learns one more amazing thing Christ did when he died for us, one thing he gave up, and one thing he gained. Each message of Christ's love for us is accompanied by a story of someone, much like us, who has struggled with friends, family, or even their Christianity in order to make the message of Christ's love that much easier to understand. After each passage you are left with that giddy warm fuzzy feeling you get when you remember just how Great God's love is for you and how much he loves you.
