This Music Book Is Called The Rifftionary A.k.a Di

This music book is called the rifftionary a.k.a dictionary of riffs. On every page:

Song name = e.g Black Dog

Band name = e.g Led Zeppelin

Tablature AND music notation of main riff = Like the tempo and stuff, which are written very well and are easy to understand. For example...

Words and music by = e.g Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones.

From the album = e.g Led Zeppelin 4 1971

Highest chart placing (U.S.) = e.g 15 1972

Guitarist = e.g Jimmy Page

Set up = e.g Gibson, Les Paul, Marshall, Stack & Roger Mayer Tonebender Fuzz Box.

How to get that sound = e.g an explanation of how to achieve the perfect sound etc.

Fascinating fact = e.g Urban legend relates that the band's name came from a comment from Keith Moon who told Jimmy Page that the band would "... go down like a f***ing lead balloon." (I apologise for Keith Moon's bad language to the review centre, but have starred the word in question like this book has done).

Technical tips = e.g This riff is based around a minor pentatonic scale at the 5th fret. Be careful not to bend the quarter tones into semi-tones, or you'll lose the whole bluesy feel.

Most memorable lyrics = e.g "Hey, hey, baby when you walk that way watch your honey drip can't keep away."

That is just one of the 138 pages. Also contained in the book are...

The Eagles- Hotel California

Derek and the Dominoes - Layla

The Who - Pinball Wizard

Jimi Hendrix - Hey Joe

Cream - Sunshine of Your Love

Led Zeppelin - Black Dog, and Queen, Motorhead, Van Halen, Nirvana, Deep Purple, The Clash, The Kinks, David Bowie. From Ace of Spades to Ziggy Stardust, an a-z, not missing any of the greatest riffs.

This is a must have. For any level of commitment and skill. For the ultimate in music books. See also guitar facts, and you're on your way to being the next Jimmy Page.

Please look for it and give it a chance. It's the kind of book along with guitar facts that I would die without. 10/10. Any feed backs and comments would be much appreciated. Thanks people. ROCK ON!!!

Right ive done a bit of research!!!... You can get this book in- Sound Control- Dundee- on the third floor. for only £10. i spoke to the shop assistant who said... " yes we should always have a few copies of this book, we get them in quite often." and you may be able to get them in other branches of - sound control- but give them a try because they are very helpful and will help you find it!!
