Graham Masterton Family Portrait

Family Portrait by Graham Masterton is an excellent book, which I first borrowed from a library, and years on had to search a lot to get a copy - I think it may now be out of print.

It is a very gory and descriptive read about a family who are being kept alive by a portrait that they had done centuries before, but to keep themselves fresh, they need the fresh skin of someone.

They capture people, skin them alive, and then kill them - this is the very descriptive part of the book. This is the only book I have ever read that made me feel physically sick in parts.

This is the story of them being kept alive, and their hunt to find the lost portrait so that is it returned to the family fold, so that is cannot be destroyed, therefore they will live forever. Alas, this is not the case, and there are some good twists to the story.

A must have read for any avid horror book fan, and a definite one for the collection. Highly recommended.
