A Great Book Everybody Should Read. Maybe America

A great book everybody should read. Maybe America always was just as grubby and opportunistic as every other country? Don't feel so morally superior now do we?

Excellent Book. A Balanced Treatment Of This Conf

Excellent book. A balanced treatment of this conflict from the previously ignored British point of view. The author dismisses myths associated with the revolution and highlights were opportunism and greed were hidden behind a cloak of high political principal.

Hugh Bicheno, richard Holmes, Rebels And Redcoats:

Hugh Bicheno,Richard Holmes, Rebels and Redcoats: The American Revolutionary War - What an attack on the very foundation of America. Everyone I know that saw it was ashamed that PBS would air something like this. A one-sided account, which at one point actually portrays Americans as fanatics, comparing them to the Vietcong AND Hezbollah. The list of insults to America and Americans is long, and shameful.

Maybe you need to look past our founding mythology and consider the issues more objectively. For the British, this is just another bit of history, for us it forms the heart of our identity. Who is likely to be more objective?

This appears to be a review of the PBS program rather than the book?
