Cathy Hopkins, Mates, Dates: The Secret Story

i love this series! it has to be the most addicting, funny, excitingly diffrent collection of books i've ever read! if you haven't read these books yet then go buy one and see what you're missing! i think these books are so clever and hilarious! cathy hopkins is one of the best teen writers! she makes her characters seem so alive and they all go through struggles any teenager will/would have! one of the best things about these books is that she answers all the questions and problems that every teenager wants to know the answers to!

What a book! Ok...so i admit, the babyish cover did put me of a little when i picked the book up but hey, what do they say: Never judge a book by its cover!

When I was in the process of reading this book i had no idea that the other MD (Mates, dates) books were about the same characters in this book, because i have never read them. But i think if your wanting to read this book you don't really need to read the other books first...BUT i would recommend reading the other 12 first because it will give u MUCH more detail about the story, and you'll enjoy it more.

Before you do make any purchase u have to realize that if u read this book it will give away everything in the other 12 books.

Anyway...

It is a brilllant book, considering that I'm not really into girly books, but this book surprised me in a really good way!

I love the fact that you're getting the story from both sides of the lovers: Lucy & Tony <3. Its also a great girl power book, best friends and all.

Mates, Dates and the secret story is definitely in my Top list with Hush, hush as no.1 and maybe this book as no.2 ......

WARNING: This book has caused illnesses such as: Not being able to put the book down, being in love with the character Tony, throbbing love headaches, love coughs, book coughs, sadness for the characters and many more. If u do experience any of these things, the only way to stop them is to finish reading this book then email the writer and ask her to write a 2nd one to this book.

I love this book and i would really recommend this book to a friend. cathy hopkins is such a great author and i have read all of her mates, dates series and they are perfect reads for teenage girls. the characters are so real to life and the books are like what actually happens in your time as a teenager with boyfriends and friend trouble and just having fun. It is great that cathy writes because i think without her books reading wiil be boring and i think it is great that cathy loves her job and does not just do it to become famous and to earn money

Mates dates the secret story is a romace book it talks about young love in a way that teenagers would. This book is one which is hard to put down. I think the book is incredibly different to any other romace book as the main character has a relationship with her best friends brother. The points i liked about this book is that each chapter has questions which haven't been answered so it makes you want to read on. Also it makes you feel like you are the characters. The points which i didn't like is that sometimes it coud get sightly confusing so you ended up reading back over it. Before i brought this book i wanted to know if i was for my age range but now i have read it i know that it is for teenagers. I would of also wanted to know if the book was good because people buy books and don't read them because the book isn't good so they end up spending more money. If it had a rating then i think more people would buy the book.

Overall i think this book mates date he secret story is aa fantastic book and i would recommend it to anyone.
