In Princeton, New Jersey, fortyish antiques store owner Kate French suddenly feels immense chest pains and collapses in a parking lot. She lies on the ground where any passerby can see her red thong underwear, an item that the normally straight-laced single mom of an adult daughter would never be caught dead wearing. A Deadhead wearing a Grateful Dead T-shirt administers CPR, saving her life until the ambulance arrives to take her to the hospital.

Kate wants to thank her hero while her hero Mark Kerry wants to insure she is okay especially since his thoughts linger on the red thong though he knows how inappropriate that is. When Mark and Kate meet, sparks fly, although neither of the fortysomething pair expected to fall in love.

This is an exhilarating, contemporary romance that is much deeper than the brief description above as Barbara Bretton explores multiple relationships, besides that of the lead couple. The cast drives the terrific storyline as the protagonists and the secondary players seem so filled with life. Subgenre fans will want to read this delightful Jersey romance enhanced by Kate's daughter who wants the best for her mom, but fears being left out in the cold if that becomes Mark.
