Zadie Smith, On Beauty

This book was fairly hard to get into at first, but given time I really began to connect with the characters. I especially liked Zora, the teenaged daughter, and the farther. This was quite a different book from those i usually read, but I am now looking forward to reading more of Zadie Smith's books.

The characters lacked depth so it was hard to empathize with any of them. The narrative was like irrelevent waffle. I could not finish this book, I found it difficult enough to get half way through. So disappointing.

I was a bit disappointed with On beauty by Zadie Smith. After reading White Teeth, which I thoroughly enjoyed, I rushed out to buy a copy of On beauty. Sadly I have to say I didn't enjoy On Beauty nearly as much as I did with White Teeth.

I did persevere in the hope that the book would improve over time, but I gave up three quarters of the way through.

I just hope that Zadie's next book will include more believable characters.
