Where Have All The Boys Gone? By Jenn
Where Have All the Boys Gone? by Jenny Colgan is an entertaining piece of chick lit about Katie, who is a semi-successful PR expert who can't find a date, much less a boyfriend. She finds herself looking after her best friend, whose boyfriend ran off with Katie's sister.
Katie accepts an assignment doing PR for a forestry commission in the far north of Scotland, helping to stop a golf course from being built. The town, it turns out, has a ration of 16 men to every woman. So she only has to contend with fighting a battle against a major corporation, the journalist she fancies being the mortal enemy of her new boss, the bad weather, her boss' bad attitude and her zany friend.
But even in the midst of all the adversity, the country does grow on a girl...
It's lighthearted, pokes fun at the lifestyle of the single London female, and isn't the most original of plots, but the book is well-written, easy to read and would probably keep most girls entertained for a few hours on a beach, which is really its only purpose anyway.
