Fairly Enjoyable - Didn't Love It Though
Unlike all the other reviewers on this page i did not feel particularly strongly about Never Let Me Go. There is nothing wrong with it, and yes it's a sad story - it just didnt really captivate me. I think maybe i just didnt enjoy the style of writing quite so much as others - yes i can appreciate that its a beautiful book and i am studied and pulled apart by a level students up and down the land. I enjoyed it but for me, if you are looking for a book you can't put down, this isnt it.

Kazuo Ishiguro Uses A Technique Called The Unknowi
Kazuo Ishiguro uses a technique called the unknowing narrator, which is pretty self explanatory. The story is from Kathy's (the main characters) point of view, as she remembers her life and the friends she had, and has lost. It's really about her relationship with her friends and how it changes, and how spite and hatred only comes back to haunt you at the end.
It's amazing that a book can have the effect Never Let Me Go had on me ,and even now as I sit and write this review I'm feeling sad like I have actually experienced the story.
The basic story is about a group of children who grow up realising that they are "special". Little do you know that they will later in life have to give "donations". I won't tell you much about this as it ruins the story if you know this, but it is heart breaking when you finally realise what the full ramifications are of these donations.
Please read this book! It's heart breaking, thought provoking and... did I say heart breaking?

I read Kazuo Ishiguro's Remains of the Day six months back, which prompted me to read Never Let me go the very next day.

Kazuo Ishiguro, Never Let Me Go - This Novel Makes
Kazuo Ishiguro, Never Let Me Go - This novel makes my blood boil. Mind you, this is not the fault of Ishiguro. Then what's my problem ? Believe it or not but I can't tell you without spoiling the plot. I can only say that we need new and strong moral principles. If we don't have them history will repeat itself and we will have the same situation like in Nazi-Germany in the 1930's. Again, I'm sorry that I can't be more specific but this is a novel with a very tight plot from the first page till the last.
Go for it; buy the book and read it and you will agree that this is the best novel Kazuo Ishiguro wrote so far.
