Katie Gates, The Somebody Who

This is a debut novel written by American Katie Gates. The story is that of a woman learning to deal with her beloved husband's Alzheimers. While that initially sounds like quite a downer, it is a wonderful, lovely and charming book. The writing is superb and the storyline unique. The characters are wonderfully "fleshed out" and I found myself not wanting to put it down. Flashbacks allow you to get to know Davy - the wonderful patriarch whose mind is wracked by this heartless disease. Evelyn, his wife, is a fantastic woman - clever, funny, creative and soulful.I heartily recommend this book to anyone.
