Mmm, Ben Elton Seems To Place A Lot Of Stock In To
mmm, ben elton seems to place a lot of stock in todays society. he kept refering to the 'good old times' forgetting all the war, poverty, sexual abuse, lack of purpose, sickness, consumerism etc that exists in todays scientific and materialistic world. so i found it hard to enjoy because it's todays world that will bring us to this world of 'more' in the future. Also there was no was to understand how the world had evolved to this path of 'faith'. both materialism and spiritualism will prove foolhearty when done blindly and to excess, we each need to have our own experience and follow our own path.
it lacked humour, i only had one out loud hearty lauf.

I take the point that other reviewers say that you need to stick with it, but there are too many other books out there to read and life is too short. Other readers might find that it is worth it if you persevere to the end.

I Have Always Love Ben Elton's Style Of Story Tell
I have always love Ben Elton's style of story telling and the stories he writes are for me always original, thought provoking and enjoyable. I could not put Blind Faith down until I had finished the last page (alot of missed sleep) The book was entertaining and surprising in it's effect.
Can't wait to read his next book

Like Another Reviewer I Noticed, I Was Quite Ready
Like another reviewer I noticed, I was quite ready to do away will the book about half way. Elton had gone over the same ground lots of times e.g. 'remember that thing that you sometimes do in your daily life? well it's ten times more extreme in the future.'
Then things really got going, I was literately shocked, could have had whiplash from the book at one point. And I really cared for the characters through the book. I got happy, upset, very angry at times.
My only personal problem with the ending (don't worry I won't give it away) was that right in the last few pages you're presented with an idea of the future (I'll leave it at that). You're even given visual evidence of the idea. But for some reason I just didn't believe that the idea would come true. Elton just simply failed to convince me that it would become dominant. Which is a bit of a shame!
Never mind. Interesting book with some brilliant parts and not so great parts.

A Fantastic Read. Elton Grabs A Sheaf Of Current I
A fantastic read. Elton grabs a sheaf of current issues, moves forward in time, drapes it all over Orwell's 1984 but (just) comes out with a positive at the end.

Blind Faith, was the best novel i've ever read, closely followed by Past Mortem, but this one was fascinating and explored the issues which are very important, not only in the future, but today as well.

A Fantastic Book, Frigthening In Its Possibilities
A fantastic book, frigthening in its possibilities for the future. Elton writes with such a discriptive manner you cannot help but form vivid pictures in your mind....that stay with you. My all time favorite book and a story that stays with you in everyday life.

An Amusing Read But A Ghastly Preview Of How The M
An amusing read but a ghastly preview of how the mores of today could become the culture of the future, (or lack of culture) The very thin line which already exists between sexual freedom and sexual aggression becoming even thinner and the absolute disappearance of courtesy and consideration give us a horribly credible look at the future.

Blind Faith by Ben Elton is a must read.
A frightening vision of an all too near future, many aspects already embedded in our society. Made for non stop reading, a real thought challenge to our thinking.
