Rosalie Skinner, Exiled: Winter's Plight

Exiled: Winter's Plight by Rosalie Skinner takes the reader into a Fantasy world where the hero Caleath is trying to find an escape off the planet. His one chance is to locate a beacon that crashed to ground. The beacon comes from his previous life where he was a surveyor of planets for an advanced civilization. Now he must survive on a planet where wizards and dragons actually exist. His obsession with playing Virtual Reality games failed to prepare him for actually facing swordsmen or surviving on a backwater planet, but it did help. The story takes the reader into a new and exciting realm. Before too many pages are turned, the characters feel like old friends. The landscape seems eerily familiar, and transportation to the world Ms Skinner creates happens without any real effort.Leaving is more difficult.This is a story well worth reading.
