Wonderfully Engaging But Tiring
This is a riveting book. That is the first thing to say. It is also poorly written, but I confess I was so caught up in the plot that I didn't care until towards the end when it grew wearying. The characters show a strong sense of female strength and I can only applaud the aims of the author. Do give it a read, although I can't face the sequel for a few years yet.

My dad lent me Ken Follett's The Pillars of the Earth to read and I didn't think it was my type of book. Over 1000 pages later in ONE SITTING, I put it down. Fabulous. As recommended as I can recommend it!!

Ken Follett's "The Pillars of the Earth Great" is long and entertaining. The only bad point for me was it ending but there's a sequel :-). Great read.
