Set In The Mid-1990's "cuelsin" By J Lawrie Welsh
Set in the mid-1990's "Cuelsin" by J Lawrie Welsh quickly gathers pace and is hard to put down. The pursuit of a British politician connected to East European mafia figures is seen through the eyes of British agent Rob McAlister and the conclusion is as surprising as it is violent. The characters are well developed and entirely believable and the settings come to life as the action moves across Europe, obviously drawn from knowledege and close observation of the author.
It is all too believable, the corruption and machinations of the main protagonists and the workings of the British establishment. One is left wondering about the background of the person who wrote this.
I found this review very helpful because...it is extremely perceptive in the assessment of the author and summarises the novel well without giving anything away. I will be happy to use it, although I rather think I will not include the final sentence.
