Colin Dexter omnibus - Last Seen Wearing, Last Bus to Woodstock

These two stories were put into an Omnibus - Last Seen Wearing, Last Bus to Woodstock, edtion I got my hands on during a sale. I think they are the first stories in the Inspector Morse series of books. In each story a murder takes place, Morse seems to stroll along pensively taking in all the facts, plays with them a little in his head and comes up with the answer. Who did it. Only to then find he's got it wrong, he gets a bit put off by it as though his intellect has been shown to be not worthy of the puzzles set. Even considering giving up the cases. His trusty side kick Lewis is cut from a different cloth and like a bumpkin makes suggestions. I haven't said much about the stories though they are set in about the 1980s so they do seem a little out of date. Otherwise quite an enjoyable read.
