I Read This One After The Da Vinci Code And Needle

I read this one after the Da Vinci Code and needless to say, I had great expectations of Dan Brown...

He didn't disappoint me!

An amazing, realistic plot with ordinary people, plus lots of twists and turns, will not let you keep the book down till you reach the end. As usual someone gets killed at the first chapter so you hardly get any chance to settle down. Here Dan tells you a story of deception at its gigantic best; thus making Deception Point a perfect title! There is hardly a dull moment in the book and his description about the people, locations, machineries etc are just perfect. It's a story of a senator's daughter who gets involved in a complete mess which also includes the most powerful man in the world.. the President of the US, and many other powerful and important people. Now, the real fun is trying to figure out who is the prey and who is the mastermind! Well, I didn't get it right and I hope even you don't get it. Trust me, it is an absolute cracker.

I hate to disclose even 5% of the story hence all I can say is if the plot excites you and you like Brown's style, go for it. I'm sure you are going to like it.

Warning: Some Of The Characters In Dan Brown, Dece

WARNING: Some of the characters in Dan Brown, DECEPTION POINT are not as they seem. Actually, nothing is. The only certainty is that behind every corner is a stunning, pulse-pounding surprise. Dan Brown is the author of numerous bestselling novels, including Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons. In Deception Point, Brown has done his research, folding in sophisticated scientific and military details with extra-terrestrial proof. This story consists of a young senator's daughter uncovering secrets about a new NASA discovery that will shake up politics in the current presidential election as more information is gained, the more the young woman must fight for survival from undercover special ops teams. The characters, setting, and conflicts within this book will make you realize the immense deceptions and thrills anyone would long for. Throughout this book characters play a huge role in the dramatic outcome of every chapter. There are numerous main characters and they are split into 4 groups: group 1- William Pickering, Michael Tolland, Corky, and Rachel Sexton group 2- Senator Sexton and Gabrielle group 3- Marjorie Tench and President Herney and group 4 - Deltas (the assassins). The first group includes the civilian scientists that work on analyzing and excavating a meteorite. The second group is the so called "antagonists" along with group 4 they are against the president and the meteorite. Last, group 3 are the president and his chief of staff. These many characters will shift between being antagonists and protagonists. You will not know the real underlying role of these characters until the last pages of the book. For this reason, many conflicts formed between these characters. In Deception Point the many conflicts kept your heart pacing and pages turning. The main conflict in this book involves the civilian scientists and the band of assassins (the delta force). The minor conflict is between the Senator Sexton and President Herney. In the main conflict the band of assassins are hired to kill the scientists so they will not leak out an enormous secret that could destroy the President's run, hence closing down NASA. In the minor conflict, Senator Sexton is trying to ruin Herney's second run for president by polluting the media with past NASA failures and expenses. The mysterious and ominous setting of this book partners up with the conflicts to bring you more suspenseful action. The dark and icy setting in the North Pole gives this book its bloodcurdling action and suspenseful encounters. The eerie mood of the North Pole presents the assassins with a more deathlike appearance and more shocking scares. For instance, when the delta force attempts to kill the scientists near the meteorite excavation base, the setting provides you an unsuspecting surprise. In addition the dreary atmosphere convinces you to think that it that day is like any other with no surprises. The illusive characters, eerie setting, and intense conflicts within this book will make you realize the immense deceptions and page turning-suspense anyone would long for.

Deception Point Is A Good Thriller, Although There

Deception Point is a good thriller, although there was a give away mistake to the masterminds identity half way through.

Dan Brown refers to the mastermind all the way through as "the controller", leading the reader to be torn between a female character and a male character under Suspicion until the final few chapters.

After about 250 pages, the writer refers to the controllers gender! I think the proofreader was asleep on that page, although it is an overall a good read!

I Got Deception Point By Dan Brown At An Airport I

I got Deception Point by Dan Brown at an airport in Florida to just pass time on the aeroplane. When I got home I couldn't put the book down. This is the first book I have read of Dan Brown's, but I am considering reading his more popular The Da Vinci Code.

Overall, I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a good thriller/mystery.

I Found Dan Brown's Deception Point A Read In One

I found Dan Brown's Deception Point a read in one go affair because frankly I could not put it down for fear of what would happen while I wasn't looking. This is an exciting thriller which is fast paced and quite twisty. Loved it, thank you Dan Brown.
