I have used Book 1 it to prepare Scholarship students at 13+. Excellent and, quite frankly, there is no alternative.

This Is A Classic (note The Pun) Book Which Cover
This is a classic (note the pun) book which covers all the linguistic requirements for Greek students. It also explains how Tynchy Styrder becomes a hermit vandal after a troubled singing career in which he married 15 people (at one time)

Impenetrable Waffle Ruins John Taylor's, Greek To
Impenetrable waffle ruins John Taylor's, Greek to GCSE, for me. I found the long winded explanations, that rarely included pertinent information, frustrating. Constant comparisons with Latin didn't help. Exercises, however, were relatively well paced and gave lots of practise, but it doesn't give quite enough depth for GCSE. The stories were worse, and made little sense even when translated correctly. I would definitely try find an alternative course if you wish to study Ancient Greek without tearing your hair out in frustration.

Logical Thinking But Needs A Little More In-depth
Logical thinking but needs a little more in-depth advice and reasoning. I use John Taylor's Greek To GCSE regularly and it's helped me with the subject.
Not Reccomended At All. I Have Used This Book For
Not reccomended at all. I have used this book for two years in a row on two talented Greek classes and it was a disaster, not covering any of the appropriate specifications for GCSE or even containing much about the Greek language. At many ponts the author becomes confused as to whether he is writting about classical or modern Greek - which are not the same!I have now switched to the Cambridge Greek Course and have since acheived far better results. I tnink this book is appalingly written and poorly edited.

Greek To Gcse Is A Brilliant Book Which However Is
Greek to GCSE is a brilliant book which however is sometimes abused by the author for setting long and impossible preps from it

Having Ground To A Halt When Trying A Couple Of Ot
Having ground to a halt when trying a couple of other course books on koine (common/Hellenistic/New Testament/linuga franca) Ancient Greek, these two books on "proper" Ancient Greek seem to be doing the trick. It may be that my previous attempts have laid some foundations, but these books seem much better paced in term of the amount of exercises interspersed amongst the fresh material.
