I've Got To Admit I Got Caught Up In The Hype Surr

I've got to admit I got caught up in the hype surrounding our glorious win over the Aussies in the ashes and couldn't resist buying this book when I saw it in the shops. Normally books like these are a bit of a disappointment - facts are thin on the ground and they usually stink of ghost writer - I am happy to say that this book is nothing like that.

Considering how quickly this book came out after the ashes it is an amazingly good read - when I heard that it told Freddy's story right up to the celebrations of winning the Ashes I was a bit worried that it would seem rushed but that couldn't be further from the truth - this book is full of insightful thoughts and memories that you can tell really came from the great man himself and add a whole new dimension to the ashes win.

This book doesn't just focus on the ashes though - it covers his life before them as well including the highs and the lows - this is what makes the book such a great read - it doesn't tip toe around things, it tells it like it is. The collection of pictures in the book are also all good quality and don't detract from the read but instead help illustrate some of the stories that Freddy tells.

I highly recommend this book.
