We Paid A Visit To Marwell Zoo, Having Seen Poste

We paid a visit to Marwell Zoo, having seen posters and marketing around the area we where staying in while on a short break.

The zoo is character-less compared to others we have been to in this country. Lots of enclosures were empty due to being 'maintained or the animal had been moved to another location. While you could say that the zoo had lots of space, it wasn't sign posted to where the animals were very well, and was very spread out... not great for youngsters and toddlers. There seemed to be no breeding programme and there were only one of some of the animals.

The land train/tractor was good and helpful, but having to pay again for the train was a bit off!

The children were hot, tired and bored of walking after two hours!

An expensive trip, not worth half of what we paid. Sorry Marwell Zoo, we won't see you again!

We Visited The Marwell Christmas Experience, With

we visited the marwell christmas experience, with my 3 year old daughter, having previously been several years back with my nieces, I was more than disappointed, previously it was a magical experience, full of animated characters and animals, this time there was nothing magical, very few christmas decorations, no music/carols. The so called tavern, was a room that was cold with a few of the staff standing around looking fed up, the whole eperience lacked atmosphere and was not festive. I took along my parents along with my partner therefore making the whole event a very expensive waste of money Just short of £100 !. The plus side for some maybe that you get tickets to visit the park between now and the end of March 2011, however personally I was looking for a nagical christmas experience for my daughter.

I think it would be advisable for anyone looking for a good reflection of the Marwell Christmas experience to read more than just this one review. I would suggest looking at their facebook page to see the fabulous reviews it has actually recieved. Don't take the word of one when so many had a fantasic and magical experience. I took my little boy and it was great. It was decorated beautifully, the elves were fabulous with all of the children, Mrs claus was wonderful, funny and truly interactive even making the adults laugh and Father Christmas was enchanting. It wasn't just an in and out to see father christmas it was a whole exerience lasting over an hour and we loved it. Even the gift was a quality item. You also get a day at the park, what more could you ask for?

In my opinion worth every single penny! Fantastic!

Marwell Zoo Is Fantastic. We Go At Least Once A Y

Marwell Zoo is fantastic. We go at least once a year. It's great for all the family with plenty to do and see.

They have such a wide selection of animals, and the enclosures are ALWAYS well maintained. I've always been impressed with the condition of the animals and they all seem to be well looked after.

The entry price is very reasonable, but I always like to do my bit for animal conservation, so usually donate a bit more!

If you have little ones, there is an area where you're kids can go and play with the animals, and pat / feed them etc.

You can probably walk around the whole park in about 2 hours, but i'd recommend taking a picnic and making a whole afternoon of it, or even a day!

If you're stuck for things to do on a weekend, and the weather is nice, then i'd recommend visiting Marwell Zoo.
