Brisbane's Alma Park Zoo

Thank goodness we bought a cheap coupon or I would have been very upset!

The best thing about it was the opportunity to be strolling about outdoors, that is all.

The sun bear appeared so sad it had walked a track along the side fence walking backwards & forwards the whole time.

1/4 of the habitats were labelled with animals but were totally empty and some very rundown.

The turtles in the lemur area were in water so revolting they were growing moss on their heads and shells.

All of the wallabies and kangaroos were lifeless and boring.

The picnic areas were nice and there was good affordable food at the cafe which was a pleasant surprise.

My thought arnt good as we have been three times before and the zoo is to my opinion sliding downhill. Although my daughter of three liked it but maybe it was just a day out. Not too much to see as we were out of there in about 2 hours not really the admission price value. Not many Lemurs on the island about three that I could see less donkeys deers monkeys farm animals than last time we went. The water buffalo were in a paddock way at the back that you cant see without a zoom on your camera,2 dingos. I could keep going but I dont feel I should disgrace the zoo they may have a logical reason for the state the park is heading, Truly though my wife stopped me for obtaining my money back. But there is no reason why your toilets stunk from sullage Please Review your admission prices or put in more value for money

I visited Alma Park Zoo recently, and was shocked by how bored and depressed most of the animals seemed. The condition of some of the animals (ostrich, goat and cow) was not good.

I left the zoo feeling incredibly sad for these poor animals and can only hope that the conditions for these animals are improved.

The carpark and general upkeep of the zoo was also bad. On a good note, the staff are very friendly, food is good and the admission cost isn't expensive.

Alma park was a fantastic day out, a fairly small place but with lots of well cared for native animals, and free barbecue areas. I would certainly make a return visit.
