I Have Never Experienced Such Horrific Practices I

I have never experienced such horrific practices in a british zoo in all of my life, as part of my job I frequently visit animal collections and this one shocked me to the core! the enclosures were disgustingly inadequate for the animals needs, I have never seen such a collection of animals displaying stereotypical behaviours in all my life, even the rhinos were distressed! yes it offers a very hands on approach for public but at a serious detriment to the animals and public safety and wellbeing, overall a disgusting collection and should be investigated on numerous accounts of animal cruelty! Southlakes wild animal park should be disgusted in themselves, how they get there license renewed is beyond me! how are young people to be educated on appropriate animal management when places like this exist in this day and age!

I gave one star only because I had to give a rating!

I Have Been To South Lakes Wild Animal Park Twice

I have been to South Lakes Wild Animal Park twice now and it does not fail you for a great day out. Lots to see and the animals look like they are well looked after. Great for adults teenagers and kids of all ages. The walk ways make it easy for you to take prams and buggy's and there is a good picnic area and lovely gift shop well worth a visit.

The Owner Of South Lakes Animal Park Was At The Pa

The owner of South Lakes Animal Park was at the park and walked around the restaurant while we were there. He is genuinely interested in customer feedback.

The monkeys are fun to watch before going to the restaurant - just to make a comparison!

Very Animal And Visitor Orientated, Animals All Lo

Very animal and visitor orientated, animals all look happy and well cared for, keepers all very dedicated. Super aviary. The Tigers (Sumatran and Amur) are beautiful. The owner has founded a charity to promote the survival of the Sumatran Tiger.

South Lakes Wild Animal Park Is By Far The Best Zo

South Lakes Wild Animal Park is by far the best zoo I have ever been to!

It cost £7 to get in, and it was worth every penny. We saw all the animals in their natural habitats. They had Lions, Tigers, Cheetahs, Hippos, Monkeys, Bears, and Bats etc. They have a section where the animals walk around with you. It's split into various countries i.e. Australia had Kangaroos and Wallaby's. Lemar's sit by your feet, and Emu's walk past you demanding food, which is quite scary! At feeding times, they put meat at the top of large poles in the Lion and Tiger enclosures. They run up them at such a speed! There is also a talk on endangered animals and what they are doing to help. The good thing about this zoo is that they support and set up projects to save endangered animals, and you can donate if you want to, as they ask for any spare change after the talks. Even the food in the shop was nice!!
