A Must- Do In London!
I had so much fun on this walk! It is scary but really interesting and Richard Jones the guide is great. I also did his London Discovery tour which was good for sightseeing London. I'd definitely recommend doing this tour if you get chance in London. I have been to London a few times over the years and done a couple of sight seeing tours etc but the Jack the Ripper tour was so different. The only thing I would mention is that it probably isn't great for young children - not particularly because it's too scary, but it is in the evening and I think it is probably better if you can have at least a vague understanding of who jack the ripper was! Other than that, I'm sure anyone of any age would love it!

The Walk Was Booked Through Www.jack-the-ripper-wa
The walk was booked through www.jack-the-ripper-walks.com. The site claims that this walk is the best Jack the Ripper walk, a boast that is definitely lived up to.
The site is easy to navigate and there is more than enough information on their to leave no question unanswered. There are tour details, historical facts, routes and photographs that fill in every detail.
Booking is straightforward and a confirmation e-mail is used as your 'e-ticket'to prove payment upon arrival at Whitechapel.
Upon arrival, you will be split into manageable groups in the region of 35 to 40 people. Much more than this number and you would maybe struggle to be involved and hear what is being said, see the photos, etc. Just about the right number.
As the website says, the tour starts right on the edge of the Ripper's murder patch, right opposite the White Hart and a little down the road from the Ten Bells, two famous (infamous?) pubs in the Ripper history.
The tour lasts for around two hours and is punctuated by frequent stops at or near points of importance in the story. The tour guides do know their stuff and the tour is supported by photographs of the area at the time and the victims themselves!
I won't spoil the tour by listing details, etc. but you do finish in the infamous Mitre Square, whilst during the tour, you criss-cross the Middlesex Street (Petticoat Lane Market) area. One thing I would suggest, though, is to do the tour at night, to add to the atmosphere and ambiance, if you like.
I found the tour entertaining and a lot of fun. I would certainly recommend this to anyone looking to book a tour.
One suggestion to visitors, and I think it's quite important! Eat before you tour! You will pass along part of Brick Lane and your stomachs will rumble at the blends of spices coming from the many curry houses along the route!
