Of All The Gardens We Visited, This Was Our Favori

Of all the gardens we visited, this was our favorite. There were stunning vistas around each corner and lovely spots to sit and contemplate the beauty. A visit here should not be rushed. Allow time to visit the gardening museum and workshops, even enjoy a bite in the restaurant. Plan a leisurely day and you will be amply rewarded.

Having Visited Trevarno Gardens In Cornwall Severa

Having visited Trevarno Gardens in Cornwall several times, every year the experience improves slightly. This a non-National trust property which charges £5.15 for entry, although there are often discount vouchers in several publications. The cafe is spacious and airy, and it extends outside and offers a small selection of well prepared larger meals, as well as the usual cakes, drinks and snacks.

The ornate gardens are well kept, but most of the garden is a woodland walk, a lake and a large rockery garden. It is not as colourful as some gardens I have visited, but it is full of interesting nooks and crannies.

On the positive side, every year they have expanded and improved the gardens without any substantial increases in the ticket price. If the improvements continue, within 5 to 10 years this could easily become the top garden to visit in Cornwall.

The exit and entrance roads can be slightly rough with minor pot holes, and the Walled gardens and old greenhouses are awaiting full restoration.

The staff are very helpful and friendly. The peacocks wandering all over the estate also provide an additional attraction.

Although it is not the best garden in the South West, I felt it was value for money, and it is worth a visit. Please note that this is only a garden, and the house associated with it is not open to the public (apart from the shop within the house).
