You Will Need At Least 4 Hours.

Bletchley Park as an organisation are not easy to deal with, if you contact them by phone (e-mail is not advisable) with a group enquiry you replies are likely to be woooly, you might find the enthusiastic person if you are lucky, so your group of 45 "Oldies" arrive & the man at the gate sends you to the wrong entrance, the Coach drived not amused, we are then relocated & have to walk some way ( we used to be dropped off outside the front of the House)Our lunch had been arranged by them for 12.15, this was then changed to 12.45The volunteers were excellent & gave worthwhile suggestions for the revised time available. We returned to our designated location at required time to a very very poor 1 course meal(£10.00)

The museum is brilliant, the Stewards in the same league, it should be 5 Stars it is just the people who run the place that let the side down.

Facinating Top Secret Site For Adults

I visited Bletchley park after reading a book about the WW2 code breakers and wanted to see it all for myself.

The Trust that run the attraction have done a terrific job of saving a piece of British war time history and the site is slowly being restored. Although a lot of work has been done and there is enough to see, there is still many parts of the complex that require restoration and are 'work in progress' as of Feb 2013.

There is an interesting guided tour at no extra cost which lasts about an hour. The displays are good and have lots to read about the efforts of the staff at Bletchley but they reflect the lowish entry fee and are not as slick as those at the Imperial War Museum for example.

There is a small play area for children but I doubt the site would hold the attention of youngsters for long. For interested adults like me, I found it fascinating, incredibly interesting and if Top Secret installations are your thing, you'll love it.

Visitor numbers are growing and because the money made goes into the restoration it's money well spent. The staff are enthusiastic volunteers and the cafe is very good, now situated in the hut where the decrypted German messages were translated into English - something to think about over a cuppa!

Bletchley Park Museum National Codes Centre Is A

Bletchley Park Museum National Codes Centre is a disorganised mess. Passable core exhibition (but not worth the money) marred by lack of context and background and the whole site badly let down by a scrappy melange of odd (and largely very poor quality) single room exhibitions unrelated to each other and with at best tenuous links to the site. Tour guide dull and uninspired. We won't be taking advantage of the 12-month ticket!

Bletchley Park Museum National Codes Centre Is Run

Bletchley Park Museum National Codes Centre is run by trustees, it was interesing to note on the tour that 'developers'! Failed to flatten the main areas and lose this fantastic historical site for good. All due to a good chap from the council who apparently informed the trustees that saving the site (the trustees have no legal right to save the site) would be better achieved by putting preservation orders on the trees. Give that person a medal.
