Silverstone Circuit

Booked 2 Silverstone Challenge Days many weeks ago both costing £750 each. Even though pre booked you still have to call and pay extra premiums for insurance etc... They are great at taking your money quickly and then forgetting your booking. I had to call the day before the event to confirm our booking from prevoius weeks only to be told they had over booked the event.

If we had not called we would have travelled for several hours to be told the event is full. Really poor operation, poor service and people not to be trusted.

We went to see the MotoGP. We got seats in the stands at Village corner, which were very high up and got a good view of the village complex corners and across the track to Maggotts, Becketts and Chapel corners. There was a large TV screen opposite us so we could see the action at other parts of the circuit.

There were plenty of off-track entertainments all weekend and the campsite was very good. The circuit complex is very large - much bigger than, say, Donnington, so the bus that takes your around the track is very welcome!

The only down-side was the weather on race day. Being so high up in the stands there was no escape from the bitterly cold winds. We'd brought warm clothing, but it was totally inadequate and we got frozen!! It was so cold that we left before the last race - a real shame.

Been to the F1 Grand Prix 3times now. And it's definitely better at Silverstone than it used to be. There are more toilets, better parking and MUCH cheaper ticket prices than there used to be!

Expect to queue for food, shops and sometimes toilets though.

Overall a great weekend , especially if your camping - Amazing atmosphere, 99% of people are very friendly!
