Disappointed

We were looking forward to this for ages, complete ripoff ,cost a fortune to get in and then they want more money for extra's,such as archery which was £5 for only 3 arrows,£7.50 for a hot dog and £2.75 for a doughnut, which we didn't purchase and on top of that they charge you £6 to get out of the car park, the castle is stunning but because there were so many people there we couldn't move freely along corridors, felt like cattle being ushered along.oh and how can they charge 90p for a packet of crisps.

extortionate

Warwick Castle

This is not a particularly cheap family day out. However if you are looking for something a bit different, a fun and interesting day for the family, I would recommend. That being said, we had the weather on our side, I would imagine if the weather was poor that this would somewhat take away from the experience. I am not ordinarily hugely interested in history, however there was something intriguing about the historic detail of this venue. The way rooms in the castle are set up in detail to replicate particular era's. On the day there was a couple of outdoor family shows such as jousting and sword fighting. There is enough of the castle to look round to fill the day and although its probably one of those places that you only need to go to once, I would recommend it. Probably just the once though.

Amazing!

I have been to Warwick Castle and I enjoyed it so much I went again the next time I went to England. I believe it is really funny people get on here and complain how expensive it is - really need to travel more - when you travel and go to unreal places it will cost you money. If you mush wine and complain about such an amazing place stay home and be miserable. But as far as Warwick Castle I love a historic place where you can go enjoy the great history and then they have games and food like it was back in mid-evil times. You must go and do this if you are in England

Overly Commercialized!

we travelled from far palce only to be devastated with the price of the entrance fee. It's so ridiculous.British can't even enjoy their own heritage anymore. what we did,we just have a photo with the castle's background and went somewhere else and have a good dinner in a (at least that one we enjoyed). I won't recommend it to some of my friends who will be visiting England.

I went to Warwick Castle after seeing it on a fab website called WideCow. I must admit the prices were very steep and totally agree that we should be able to see our heritage and not feel robbed in the process. I appreciate that it must cost a fotune to run, but lower the prices and more people will visit.

A Great Castle But Too Expensive

First of all buy your tickets online and make a huge saving-but they are still VERY expensive.

We got to the site at opening time one of the first in the gates-great so we thought. Nothing was open or ready, all he stalls were closed or didn't have their floats so couldn't take payment.

Everything that the kids wanted to go on is an extra, the Merlin experience, the dungeon etc and they are rubbish. Really poor, just because they have some people dressed up docent warrant the amount charged for them. Each one was only about 10 minutes long.

Take your own food or you will have to re-morgage your home to pay for lunch.

A beautiful castle but WAY TOO COSTLY.

Lovely Setting. The Entertainers Were Very Enthus

Lovely setting. The entertainers were very enthusiastic and professional. Did not find out about the audio guides until too late, these need to be promoted more to customers. Very clean and tidy and well organised generally. Lots of people from Europe their so it must have a good reputation. The Trebuchet was the highlight of the day, sadly only a metal ball fired from it and no animal carcasses as in medivel time!!! The castle is in extremely good condition and must be one of the best I have ever visited. As usual the Castles seems they smaller in real life than you imagine!! Not enough information on the battles at the castle or maybe there weren't any? There is also a walk along the castle wall which takes you up a keep, to be avoided for those who are not so nimble as it is quite a strenuous journey and involves over 500 steps. Overall I would recommend highly.

It's Well Preserved And We Must Be Grateful For Th

It's well preserved and we must be grateful for that. Didn't learn much actual history but the place gives kids a feel for what life may have been like. Then there was the entry price - very very expensive in comparison to other similar scale attractions. Nearly £50 for the 3 of us is far more than Royal Heritage or NT properties. It was pretty full when we were there so plenty of people are clearly happy to pay the fee. The castle itself is fun, you have the dungeon and state rooms, great hall etc, but you don't really feel the price is justified. The Preparing for Battle section is very weak, and the Halloween trail is pretty crummy too.
