Was Not Sure If Plasma Could Really Compete With C
Was not sure if plasma could really compete with conventional screen but the Hitachi 32PD3000E has surprised me with its sharp and vivid picture with stunning colour rendering. Sound from the set is clear, particularly with speech but cannot compare with a good surround sound system. My wife particularly likes the slim display and the separate tuner box keeps trailing cables to a minimum. Setting up was a doddle straight from the box and the set has performed brilliantly. Even the dog likes the lifelike picture!

The Hitachi 32pd3000e Is Quite Simply A Superb Buy
The Hitachi 32PD3000E is quite simply a superb buy, these Plasma Televisions can be picked up now on the Web for as little as £1800. The actual diagonal screen measurement is 34" making it an even bigger bargain. RF input through VCR exibited slight grain but no more than you would get from a 32" 100hz CRT. Feed a component video link through the Tuner box and you will be rewarded in spades it's simply that superb a picture ( use Monsters inc or Toy Story 2 as a test disc)even VHS looks pretty good. Looking forward to hooking up a pro scan DVD such as Denon 2900 to get the ultimate picture.
Sound is superb in stereo for analogue TV transmissions....I have not in fairness had the opportunity to compare against other Plasma's but really this unit is really really good. Hitachi deserve all the awards that are being thrust at this TV.
Set up could not be simpler and takes approx 5 mins in Auto Tune. The only gripe is you may need to be a contortionist to get the cable feed into the back of the panel which took approx 10 mins and a bit of sweat but that really is the only minor ( and it is minor ) design fault.
Simply put if you need a plasma and don't we all and your living room is a tad small to accomodate a 42" then you really should at least audition this kit.
Q&A
I have just recently moved my Hitachi 32PD3000E from the living room to the back room and this is the first time in almost 10 years that it has been disconnected. Upon reconnecting the TV is not responding upon switching on from the mains - it remains in standby mode despite using either remote or manual selection on the tuner box. All appears to be setup as previously, the only difference being that it is no longer connected to a TV service provider as it will be used only for playback of DVD and Wii PlayStation, both of which worked perfectly before. Can anyone help?
I have no original manual to refer to ensure all relevant cables have been properly connected. Plus my eyesight is somewhat poorer and I have difficulty reading the various input/outputs.
No problem, it seems that one of the pins on the input plug was bent and not inputting correctly. After straightening the pin it was all working correctly.
