Firstly, This Is A Beautiful Tv, With A Stunningly
Firstly, this is a beautiful TV, with a stunningly thin (although not Samsung thin) aspect to it. Be warned though, if you are going to wall mount this beast, you will need to use screws between 0.8 ans 1.2 cms long or that warranty fairy will not be happy!!! There is a yellow leaflet in the packing that states this - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!
Sound is OK, but I would say only average, and any good for programs that have a basic requirement for fidelity. This seems to be the problem with ALL thin TV's though, as physics is hard to alter, it seems we are destined to need additional sound enhancement - so the manufacturers aren't really bothering with sound any more as it makes their TV's FATTER. 4xHDMI's, 1xComponent, 1xSCART, USB, Ethernet, headphone out (BOSE cinemate users note this, I have hooked my Cinemate up to the headphone out with a converter cable and the sound is fine).
The Internet TV stuff is cool, and all works fine. Picture is deep and lustrous, with good blacks. It looks superb with BluRay sources, and Id's the PS3 automatically too (you get a little heartbeat symbol - sweet!) Lower quality sources look OK, but really pale by comparison to HD sources (BluRay, Sky HD etc).
Its not cheap at around £1550, but with a free 5 year warranty and £150 trade in for your old TV (even if that's a portable!!) its a lot of lovely SONYness for the money. I would say I am happy with my choice, although ask me again in 2 months and their will probably be something else...but that's just life!!!
