LG RZ37LZ55

it was an expensive TV when I bought it, but the picture was great with little difference between standard and HD programs, just the sound was a little richer in HD(?).It has been the best TV I have ever had with absolutely no problems, but last night I had the dreaded bang; and I guess that's it.

We have had this TV for 5 years before it started to go wrong - we must be very lucky, having read reviews on this site! Ours began to have green intermittent flashing lights (which makes it impossible to watch - gives me a headache watching the screen). I don't like throwing things which would otherwise work perfectly & could be repaired, but LG seems uninterested in my desire to repair this TV; The customer service gave me a repair agent's phone number based in Scotland (NB: I live in London) and they won't deal with me because I'm just too far away. I'm really disappointed with the way that manufacturers do not care about environmental waste & uninterested in repairs. LG says they don't have anyone to walk through trouble-shooting either. It's not as though we trashed the TV - and there must be ways of repairing cost-effectively and without unnecessary environmental waste.

I purchased this Tv way back 22nd May 2006 and to this day nothing has ever gone wrong with it best tv i have ever brought, unlike the three sky HD boxes i have had in less then two years.

I have had no problems with my set however it does take a little time to lower the volume on mine.

I just have the same "bang". Had the TV for 4 years though so sounds like I had a good run out of it. Got the 5 year warranty when I bought it, wonder if this will help me or not?

Yep same here big bang no picture...LG are the worst..called them they told me that it was no problem they would take it repair it and if they could not they would up grade it to a better model...., ya right...called to see if they repaired it...no....so they were sending it back to me to return it to where i bought it (at my expense) for the same model or one of equal value.....up grade.....my a*se, LG never never ever again....rotten people

My LG RZ37LZ55s gone bang!! loud noise and went off its 3 yrs old so out of warranty etc. Weirdly power light goes green then red so power is getting to unit.

I bought my LG RZ37LZ55 set for 2000$ in 2005. december.

Never used in summers, so approximately it has provided less than 2 years of average turned-on service.

Two days ago, I experienced the shut-gun sound. The rest

is known by some of you. I have extracted the PSU. Top of

the STR-T2268 is blown off. Service: 'We have never seen

such a failure.' Repair Set including fixing the PSU is coming for ~75$.

Same kind of thing that a lot of people are having with this model. Went bang from the back with a big white flash. i now have no power. I have spoke to currys who have told me to get an independant engineer report diagnosing the fault.

Does anyone know who the best peopleare to do this stating that it is an inherant fault?????

Bought this TV 19 months ago and sounds like the same thing has happened to me. Gunshot like sound from back of TV and it just keps turning itself on and off standby. Any idea what part I need and how to replace it or any other suggestions from anyone. Ta.
