I Have Owned The Tv For Over A Year Now And Have F

I have owned the tv for over a year now and have found it absoloutley brilliant the picture quality is as good as my other tv the samsung UE46B8000 which is 3 times more expensive so it performs absoloutley fantastic great for gaming and watching blu-rays and tv the only thing that is wrong is that after a while the remote seems to take about 6-7 seconds to respond which is incredibly annoying I've changed the batteries and nothings worked but I'm just bieng picky I suppose I would recommend to anyone it performs as well as tv's over £1500 so buy it if you can !!!!

Great Little Budget Set - For £348 At Richer

Great little Budget set - for £348 at richer sounds AND £35 for 5 years warranty - BRILL Full-HD picture on 1080i/p on JUST SCAN (1:1 Pixel Mapping) - sound vibrates a little and a bit disappointing as its supposed to have been set by an audio pro but this can be fixed by lowering bass in EQ , excellent colours and blacks - 50,000:1, blacks look like TV is turned off they're so deep (cant get deeper than that) , its very light set - almost 3 times lighter than my last 32"

Spent A Long Time Researching A Lot Of Similar Pro

Spent a long time researching a lot of similar products. Budget was not over huge, so was looking for an HD TV that was full 1080p rated maybe with 100hz to boot.

In researching, I was looking for the following:

1080p HD

High contrast capability

Good connectivity

100hz picture

The LG5700 fulfilled three of these very well indeed. The 1080p HD rating supports the Blu-Ray player I bought to go with the TV. The 1080p is certainly worth stretching to if a blu-ray player that supports 1080pHD is to be used.

The contrast level of this set is 1:50000 as against many other more expensive sets that were rated at 1:10000 or 1:15000. The only other TV's that came closs to this contrast ration was the Sony Bravia range which managed 1:30000, but they were considerably more expensive.

The only concession I made was with the 100hz requirement - I saw two TV's side by side that were playing fast moving images. I could see very little difference between the tv that did not have the 100hz screen and the one that did. Again, having the 100hz screen is desirable maybe, but at the time of writing put the cost of the TV up considerably.

Connectivity with other components is a breeze. 3HDMI sockets are provided (essential if being used with any HD device like Blu-Ray or Sky HD for instance), with two scart sockets to support other equipment. An audio optical-out interface is provided for connection to surround sound amps, or any other amp with an optical-in socket. Additionally, an s-video socket is provided and component video terminals are available.

Many TV's of this type do not provide a headphone socket. May not be high on the list of priorities for some, but for others it may well be! This TV does have a headphone socket - I was surprised to find many TV's that didn't provide one, so if it's important to you, look carefully for one before buying.

The user interface is very good - well designed remote control that provides easy access to all interfaces. Programme selection very straight forward.

Sound produced is fair, again with a good choice of settings. Sound is further enhanced when TV is connected to an external surround-sound system.
